Jeremiah 2:8-10

⁸ The priests did not say, ‘Where is the Lord?’
    ^(A)Those who handle the law did not know me;
^(B)the shepherds^[a] transgressed against me;
    ^(C)the prophets prophesied by Baal
    and went after ^(D)things that do not profit.
⁹ “Therefore ^(E)I still contend with you,
declares the Lord,
    and ^(F)with your children's children I will contend.
¹⁰ For cross to the coasts of ^(G)Cyprus and see,
    or send to ^(H)Kedar and examine with care;
    see if there has been such a thing.
